Dundee HSFP 23 - 25 Hawick: Second-half fightback enough for Hawick

A spirited second-half fightback saw Hawick pinch the bragging rights from an always enthralling encounter in the sunshine on Tayside, where it was anyone's guess who would secure the points from the only Premier A game of the day until the death.

An early try from Lindsey Graham, converted by Jamie Urquhart, had given the home side an early advantage, but touchdowns from Rory Hutton and Neil McTaggart, the first goalled by Hutton, edged Hawick in front, with the stand-off also chipping over two penalties. A try from Danny Levison, with Urquhart adding the extra points and a penalty in injury time, meant the visitors' lead was the narrowest possible.

Dundee upped their game after the break and an opportunist drop-goal from Rick McKenna, followed by an Urquhart penalty, gave them what looked to be a winning five-point lead. However, Hawick battled back with a try from Neil McColm, converted by Hutton, with just ten minutes remaining and stout defence saw the Borderers hold out for victory.
