Dunbar's victory is Nicol-plated

Dunbar COLTS won the South-East Region under-14 Pilmar Smith Cup by edging out Eskmill 3-0 in a competitive and nail biting final at New Countess Park, Dunbar.

As nerves got the better of both teams in the early stages it was Dunbar who came out on top by creating some fantastic chances, enabling Jonny Nicol to score twice and letting Liam Dunn display superb shooting prowess from long range.

Nicol's wing play on the right was a delight and he opend the scoring after a mesmerising run, collecting the ball from left back Dean Muir and taking it past three Eskmill players before striking a shot home.

He almost scored again five minutes later, his shot turned round the post by the keeper Jack McInnes. Eskmill got a chance after 20 minutes when Steve Scott was played through, but outrushing Colts No.1 Jamie Wilson saved at his feet and he again displayed a safe pair of hands when a corner from Lawrence Naismith looked to be heading straight in.

Dunbar increased their lead when a corner swung in by Johnstone was headed out to the edge of the area where Dunn stroked home a volley into the bottom corner.

Nicol finished off another fine move which he had he started for the third goal.
