Drummond in the mix after birdie run

CANNES MASTERS: Ross Drummond fired a superb second-round 67 to move up the leaderboard in the Cannes Mougins Masters. The Scot is in a share of 12th place, six shots off the pace set by Australian Mike Harwood after the joint lowest round of the day in France.

Drummond bogeyed the second hole but carded birdies on the fourth, seventh, eighth, 13th, 14th and 16th holes. Fellow Scot Gordon Brand Jnr signed for a level-par 72 to remain one-under-par at Cannes Mougins, alongside compatriot Bill Longmuir who carded a 73.

Harwood shot a 68 to move to ten under, with Argentine Horacio Carbonetti his nearest rival on eight under. “My round was different to yesterday,” said Harwood, who opened with a 66. “Yesterday I was terrific tee to green and putted miserably. Today I played miserably tee to green and putted terrifically.”
