Drumchapel United 1 - 1 Wishaw HSFP: Paul O'Hara saves the day for Wishaw in Amateur Cup final

Wishaw High FP goalkeeper Paul O'Hara was the hero as he saved three penalties in a 3-1 shoot-out win over Drumchapel United in the Scottish Amateur Cup final at the Braidwood Motor Company Stadium on Saturday after the sides had finished at 1-1 after 120 minutes.

Drumchapel dominated the first half and O'Hara denied David McKay three times with the favourites also having a James Mulvey goal disallowed from offside. Wishaw's resilience enabled them to take the lead on 42 minutes with their first effort on target as Bret Ansel teed up Alan Patrick who looped a shot over Jamie McGall.

The pressure from Drumchapel did not stop in the second period and McKay saw a penalty saved after he was tripped in the box by William Montgomerie. However, he could do nothing to stop the equaliser on 80 minutes when Paul Wilson's corner was headed home by Alex Clearie.

In extra time the underdogs pushed forward but it was Drumchapel's Tony McGrogan who should have done better with two chances which he put wide.

O'Hara made the day his own by stopping three Drumchapel penalties in the shoot-out to win the cup for Wishaw.
