Dons, Caley and Buddies all record pre-season victories

ABERDEEN returned to pre-season winning ways after two losses in Germany in defeating Highland League outfit Deveronvale 2-0 . Goals from Andrew Considine and Peter Pawlett either side of the interval gave Craig Brown's side victory. They are next in action against Forfar on Saturday.

New Inverness Caley signing Greg Tansey scored a double as Terry Butcher's side won 4-2 away at Yeovil. Ed Upson put the Huish Park side ahead but Tansey restored parity before the break. The same player then scored a penalty before Andrew Shinnie, another new signing, made it three. Dominic Blizzard pulled one back for Yeovil before Ritchie Foran ended the contest with a fourth goal.

St Mirren were also in action, winning 2-0 away at Dumbarton. Danny Lennon's side had been beaten by Ayr on Saturday but put in an improved performance at the Strathclyde Homes Stadium. Gary Teale opened the scoring early on before a Steven Thomson raker from 20 yards sealed victory for the Buddies. Lennon also revealed that there was no bust-up with former assistant Iain Jenkins, who left the club due to "personal reasons" and by mutual consent.
