Against the run of play, Montrose opened their account through Nicky Smith and sealed the win in 54 minutes when Dougie Cameron netted.

Berwick 0, Arbroath 4

Berwick fell to a crushing 4-0 defeat at the hands of Arbroath.

A quick-fire double from Gavin Swankie in the second half put the visitors on their way. Ross Chisholm got the third in 78 minutes before Keith Gibson completed the rout.

Annan Athletic 2, Elgin City 2

A late Neil McFarlane goal salvaged a 2-2 draw for Annan against Elgin.

Elgin went ahead in three minutes through Jason Crooks but Bryan Gilfillan equalised. Crooks scored again, then Aaron Muirhead was sent off. McFarlane spared Annan's blushes.

East Stirling 2, Clyde 0

East Stirling heaped more misery on bottom club Clyde after a 2-0 win.

Alex Walker fired the hosts ahead in the 57th minute but was then sent off for a second bookable offence. Stephen Maguire's 74th-minute goal sealed the win.
