Division 3 round-up: Goal-hungry Berwick put another four past Clyde

Berwick made it ten goals in two games and moved to the top of the Third Division table following a comprehensive 4-1 win at Clyde. After eight minutes at Broadwood full-back Steven Notman fired in a 30-yard shot that defender Alan Lithgow deflected into his own net.

Marc McCusker headed an equaliser on 59 minutes but the scores were level for only four minutes as Paul Currie side-footed home before Craig O'Reilly made it three with 20 minutes left. Currie then skipped around Hutchison to roll the ball home for the fourth.

Annan failed in their attempt to set a new club record of three opening league wins when they were held 2-2 at home by Stranraer. Craig Malcom and Romauld Bouadji put the Blues two ahead in seven minutes, however Ian Harty quickly replied and Jordan Halsman headed in a leveller in the second half.

Montrose got off the mark in fine style with a 3-0 win over neighbours Arbroath. All the goals came from former Red Lichties in a 24-minute period in the first half. Alan Campbell headed in, Chris Hegarty shot home from 20 yards and Paul Tosh hit home a cutback.

Elgin travel to Tynecastle tomorrow night on Co-operative Insurance Cup duty on the back of a 2-0 home defeat from East Stirling. David Dunn and Jamie Stevenson both netted late.

Albion Rovers winger Chris Hamilton grabbed both goals as the Coatbridge side saw off Queen's Park 2-1 at Cliftonhill. Hamilton struck in each half with the black and white hoops replying through an injury time Martin McBride penalty.
