Dick shines at West Lothian

ALLYN DICK struck an early blow for the amateurs by posting the best scratch score in the second Edinburgh & East of Scotland Alliance event of the season at West Lothian.

The Kingsknowe star shot a 72 to pip another amateur, Neil Henderson from the Glen, and Edinburgh Golf Centre pro Craig Gordon by a single stroke.

Dick is now a regular on the Alliance circuit.

Three players carded 74s – Glencorse amateur Sean McGarvey matching the efforts of pros Scott Catlin (Greenburn) and Andrew Erskine (Ratho Park).

Playing off nine, he shot a net 70, beating Baberton senior James Rankeillor, a ten-handicapper, by a shot.

The next event is at Monktonhall on Wednesday, October 3.
