Di Resta puts his full focus on results

Paul di Resta has vowed to let results drive his future in the wake of splitting with Anthony Hamilton as his manager.

A spokesperson for the 26-year-old Scot confirmed this week that Di Resta and Hamilton had parted company after two years together. With the announcement coming ahead of the British Grand Prix, and at a time when Di Resta will be looking at his options for next season, the move could not have come at a worse time for the Force India driver.

But, in terms of being managerless for the foreseeable future, and with an eye towards 2013, he added: “I’m just fully focused on my racing. It’s results that count for me and will drive me forward. I’ve had a good year up until now, and I aim to continue that progress.

“For now, the focus this weekend is to have a good race. It’s a big weekend for me with a lot of friends and family around, a lot of support. As one of the three Brits on the grid (alongside McLaren duo Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button) I’ve a feeling for what it is like to have a country behind you.

“The atmosphere is electric, and hopefully we can put on a good show for them.”
