Davis cup check

THE International Tennis Federation will check on security arrangements but does not expect to alter plans for the Davis Cup final in Serbia following the outbreak of violence by Serbian football fans in Italy.

"We will check with the Serbian tennis federation but there are no particular worries," said ITF president Francesco Ricci Bitti. He added that France, who will face Serbia for the title on 3-5 December in Belgrade, have not made any special requests since Tuesday's Euro 2012 qualifier in Genoa between Italy and Serbia was abandoned.

Serbia will be led in the final by world No 2 Novak Djokovic, who said yesterday that he was upset by the scenes in Genoa. "It's really not nice to see, definitely," Djokovic said.
