The stand-off won three RBS Six Nations man-of-the-match awards during the Six Nations Championship after a remarkable return to the Scotland team this year from the Test wilderness, steered the Warriors to their highest-ever finish in the Magners League and the inaugural semi-final play-offs, and became the first player to top 1000 points in the Magners League before clearing a record 1500 points for the Warriors.

Parks, who will move to Cardiff Blues in the summer, said: "I am delighted to receive such an award and it is humbling to have received it ahead of so many other cracking players that have stood out this year."

Prop Jon Welsh was named Breakthrough Player of the Year by the Glasgow squad.

Meanwhile, the Glasgow squad has been supplemented by the addition of three young talents in the shape of under-20 caps Henry Pyrgos from Loughborough University, West of Scotland lock Robert Harley and Ryan Grant, the 24-year-old Edinburgh prop, all on two-year contracts.
