Cycling: McCallum goes extra miles

Capital cyclist James McCallum (Rapha Condor-JLT) posted his first win of the season when he took the honours at the Bellahouston Spring Circuit Race in Glasgow.

The Commonwealth Games medallist boosted his training miles by riding to the event, then cycling home after completing his race in which he outsprinted Craig Adams (GJS Cruise Racing) and Andy Whitehall of Velo Ecosse.

Eileen Roe of the Breast Cancer Care Cycling Team won the women’s event ahead of Katie Archibald (City of Edinburgh) and Roe’s team mate Anne Ewing.
