Cycling: Mark Cavendish flattered by Manx philatery

CYCLIST Mark Cavendish is to feature on a set of stamps celebrating his sporting achievements.

The stamps, produced by the Isle of Man Post Office, include images of the 27-year-old winning the 2011 UCI Road World Championships and the Green Jersey in the 2011 Tour de France. “I’m proud to feature in this stamp collection. It is a great honour,” said Cavendish, who six years ago in Melbourne became only the second Isle of Man cyclist to win Commonwealth gold. The stamps go on sale on Tuesday.
