Cycling: In gear for Cyclocross

Commonwealth Games cyclists David Lines and Claire Thomas will test their versatility when they contest the British Cyclocross Championships in Derby on Sunday.

Lines, who raced on the track and road in Delhi last October, is also a former Scottish champion in mountain biking and cyclocross. The 32-year-old features in a field of 82 for the hour-long event.

While Thomas has also produced her best results on the road, she has shown some good form in the mud of Belgium, where she has competed during recent seasons. The Capital rider faces the daunting task of lining up for the 40 minute race against Helen Wyman, who is bidding for a record sixth title.
