Currie Cup: Cheetahs add to woes of champions Blue Bulls

The Free State Cheetahs beat the Blue Bulls 20-14 in round 10 of the Currie Cup to deal the defending champions their fifth loss in ten games.

The loss in Bloemfontein on Saturday pushes Pretoria's Blue Bulls out of the semi-final places after a resurgent Lions team from Johannesburg beat Griquas 40-29 to move up to fourth place.

Western Province had a 59-17 victory over bottom team the Leopards and leaders the Sharks came through 30-14 against the Pumas at Witbank, north east of Johannesburg on Friday.

The Sharks are top with 41 points, eight points ahead of Western Province and nine ahead of the Cheetahs. The Blue Bulls are fifth with 29 points.
