Curling: Pair of Edinburgh curlers bid for Scots finals this weekend

Edinburgh curlers, led by Ross Hepburn and Colin Campbell, will play in qualifiers for next month’s Scottish Championship Finals in Perth this weekend.

Hepburn and Campbell play ‘lead’ for Perth’s Warwick Smith and Aberdeen’s David Edwards and both are familiar with the Dewars Centre ice after just failing to reach last week’s Perth Masters quarter-finals.

The top three teams in each group will join defending champion Tom Brewster at the finals, and Campbell begins his Section A campaign against Greenacres skip Allan Manuel tomorrow morning.

Murrayfield’s John Hamilton and Graeme Prentice play Allan Gillies (Greenacres) and Graeme Black (Lockerbie) in the same group, while Hepburn faces Neil Joss (Greenacres) in Section B where Murrayfield junior Bruce Mouat faces double world champion Ewan MacDonald (Inverness).
