Curling: Kerry keeps her Barr high out west

Murrayfield’s Kerry Barr acquitted herself brilliantly on the opening day of the Glynhill International at Glasgow’s Braehead Arena yesterday, writes LORIN McDOUGALL.

Barr began by holding German Daniela Driendl to a 5-5 draw in Section A and returned later to crush Czech Linda Klimova 8-1.

Edinburgh’s Annie Laird held Denmark’s Angelina Jensen 4-4 in Group B, but then crashed 10-1 to Finnish skip Ellen Vogt.
