Cult hero: Orjan Persson

WITH Dundee United and Rangers locking horns in their Scottish Cup quarter-final replay this week, older fans of both clubs may recall this week's cult hero, who served both clubs with distinction. Swedish international winger Persson arrived at Tannadice in 1964 and helped to haul Jerry Kerr's previously struggling side into Europe, where he featured in famous victories over Barcelona and Juventus.

After 101 appearances and 17 goals he moved to Ibrox, where he banged in a further 31 goals in 113 games and represented his country at the 1970 World Cup.
