Winning the toss and batting first, Scott Blain and Patrick Ritchie were the outstanding contributors for Stewart’s Melville, helping to set a challenging target of 143 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs, despite outstanding bowling by Fettes off-spinner George West (4 overs, 1 wicket for 8 runs).

But, on an excellent surface, the Fettes openers West and George Conner put on 49 for the first wicket, enabling the following Fettes batsmen to accelerate towards the target, despite fine bowling by Foster (4 overs, 2 for 22). Fifteen-year-old Ben Macleod’s 13-ball 24 (with three sixes) tipped the balance in favour of Fettes, pictured below, leaving Lorne Milne and Rory Darling to take their team to victory in the penultimate over.
