Tons of fun for Mommsen and Watts as they pile on the runs

FRASER Watts and Preston Mommsen both stroked centuries yesterday in the perfect preparation for Scotland’s CB40 opener against Surrey today. Carlton captain Watts, pictured below, led the way with a superb 115, only for Mommsen to trump his effort with 116 as the Edinburgh outfit fashioned a crushing Scottish Cup triumph over Falkland at Grange Loan.

The hosts cruised to a massive 307 for three, with Saltires skipper Gordon Drummond also getting in on the act with a brisk unbeaten 36.

Car,lton’s new recruit from Forfarshire Umair Mohammed then carried on the good work with the ball, snapping up five wickets to send the Fifers hurtling to 86 all out.

Meanwhile Forfarshire showed few signs of missing their former all-rounder as they opened their account with a nine-wicket romp against Ayr at Forthill.
