Steindl praise for Scotland

PETE Steindl, the Scotland coach, last night reflected on a successful trip to Namibia and insisted the best is yet to come from his fast-improving side.

Steindl’s men secured a winning Intercontinental Cup draw and followed up with two 50-over victories that count towards World Cup qualification. In the five-match Twenty20 they notched their highest-ever total in the short form of the game (230 for 5), achieved their best run-chase (188) and secured their biggest margin of victory (126 runs) during the 4-1 triumph.

Steindl said: “The most pleasing thing is that we have not yet reached the heights we aspire to. But I firmly believe we are getting there. All the players now know their role.”
