England are returning to The Grange

EDINBURGH will host next summer’s one-day international between Scotland and England, it has been confirmed.

The match will be the third official clash between the Scots and the current world T20 champions in recent years and all have been held at The Grange in the Stockbridge area of the capital.

The exact date of the match is yet to be decided but Sunday 12 August has been suggested.

The first official ODI between the countries, at the Grange in 2008, was abandoned as a draw. In 2010, a 4,000-plus crowd saw Scotland lose by seven wickets despite a half-century from Kyle Coetzer.

When the latest match was first announced, Cricket Scotland chief executive Roddy Smith said: “It is fantastic news. They undertook to play in Scotland every second year and have been true to their word.”
