Changing room chat: Hot Spot is off to World Series

THE decision not to use the controversial ‘Hot Spot’ technology for the India-England one-day cricket series has seen the suppliers cross the Atlantic and provide it for baseball’s World Series instead.

The technology, which can highlight faint edges by a batsman, was criticised by the Indians in the recent tour of England. That has led suppliers BBG Sports to ship their cameras for use by broadcaster Fox Sports. The images won’t be used to help adjudicate games but will act as an aid for TV viewers.
