Cricket: Holy Cross enjoy Park life

Holy CROSS cricketers bounced back from defeat in the Activcity twenty:20 final to defeat Murrayfield DAFS in the annual Parks Trophy Final at Newfield last night.

It was only the third time that Holy Cross had won the event following success in 1986 and 1990. Both sides found boundaries elusive on an outfield where the grass had been allowed to grow due, perhaps, to the impending rugby season but Murrayfield DAFS'S total of 72 was never likely to be sufficient. In chasing down the target with five wickets in hand Holy Cross saw Charlie Ellis hit 21 to add to bowling figures of 3-12.
