Cricket: Grange field returning title winners

Grange will field three of the side which last year won the Scottish indoor cricket six-a-side title representing a Martin Currie Select when the competition continues at the National Academy, Ravelston, tonight.

Gregor Maiden, Stuart Davidson and Nick Peat revert back to club colours and are joined by Sanjay Patel and Henry Edwards, with Iain Worth expected to complete the line-up which faces East League reps Murrayfield/DAFS and a young East Academy side in the preliminary group.

The latest round of ties saw SMRH show resilience to bounce back from an opening defeat and maintain their hopes with a runaway victory over Freuchie.

In opening their bid, SMRH had suffered four run-outs while being dismissed for 42 on the way to a heavy defeat by Stenhousemuir.

However, with skipper Greg Bissett and Jon Brock both scoring 26 runs, SMRH hit back to post a total of 114-5 that proved too much for Freuchie (76 all out).
