Craig Brown asks more of Motherwell

MOTHERWELL manager Craig Brown watched his side extend their unbeaten Clydesdale Bank Premier League run to seven games but he was less than proud of their goalless draw at Hamilton.

Motherwell followed up their scrappy 1-0 win over Accies the previous weekend with another point in their quest to secure a top-six place but Brown was unimpressed with their display.

On-loan Everton goalkeeper John Ruddy played a crucial role in securing Motherwell's sixth clean sheet in seven SPL games under Brown with a succession of saves, mainly from Simon Mensing, early in the second half. But Well could have snatched all three points when John Sutton blazed over after beating the offside trap midway through the second half and Brown admitted fatigue played a big factor following their midweek draw against Rangers.

However, he warned they will have to perform far better against Hibs at Fir Park next Saturday.

"It's a bit humbling, we got good praise in midweek and probably deserved praise but we don't deserve praise after this," Brown said. "I'm sure John Hughes, who was here, will be thinking 'We'll get three points against Motherwell'. We have got to prove otherwise."
