Coldstream push Welfare

Whitehill Welfare 1 Coldstream 0

AFTER dropping points in midweek, Whitehill's marathon title run-in is back on course after a narrow win at Ferguson Park.

The title hopefuls finally started to look a threat in the closing five minutes of the half, with Ross Allum shooting just wide of the left post from a corner, and then Steven McCormack forcing Walters into a fingertip save from a 30-yard free kick.

Whitehill took the lead ten minutes after the restart. Daryl Devlin dribbled the ball into the box from the left wing, and although the Coldstream defence managed to dispossess him, Allum picked up the loose ball and fired in the opener from eight yards out.

Whitehill then had to sit out a nervy closing 20 minutes and Haldane did well to turn a net-bound Hebdon strike around the post two minutes from full time.
