Clarke has prepared Grange for stiff test

HOCKEY: After a well-deserved win over Greaves Clydesdale last weekend, Grange coach Colin Clarke sends his charges into the lion's den at Bellahouston today to take on the all-conquering Glynhill Kelburne in the Subway national league.

The fact that Kelburne demolished Inverleith 7-2 at the same venue last Saturday could be a cause for concern. But Clarke said: "Kelburne are the best side in the country, yet our games with Kelburne are always keenly fought affairs, and I expect this one to be no different.

"We will be using this game to work on key areas in preparation for our European campaign in Cardiff in a few weeks' time."

Last time out Kelburne won 2-1 at Peffermill.

Tomorrow Grange play the first quarter-final of the Arthur McKay Scottish Cup against a Watsonians side that only have a single point in the lower pool.
