City thrash The Shire

Edinburgh CITY recorded another good pre-season result when they beat East Stirlingshire 4-0 at Meggetland.

A Dougie Gair penalty gave City a 1-0 lead at half-time and they added to that with an Ian McFarland lob from 40 yards followed by a Myles Hunter shot and goal from striker Robbie Ross.

Premier Division new boys Leith Athletic were involved in a thrilling 5-4 win against Musselburgh Athletic who, early on, led 2-0 before Leith took a 4-2 lead. Stephen Barrie, Greig Tulloch, Lewis martin and Liam O'Donnell scored the Leith goals and although Musselburgh made the score 4-4 with only one minute remaining, Martin notched his second in the dying seconds.

Elsewhere, Newtongrange Star defeated Vale of Leithen 3-1.
