Champ David

DAVID EWEN, a member of the Carrickvale side which lifted the Dispatch Trophy three years in a row, has become a world champion.

He won the World Deaf Golf Championship at Fairmont St Andrews, where he led from wire-to-wire with rounds of 72, 78, 76 and 74 on the Torrance Course.

Ewen, who claimed the title by ten shots, beat a record-breaking field of 114 golfers representing 15 different countries.
