Celtic please boss Lennon

NEIL LENNON believes he is now beginning to see signs that Celtic are becoming the team he wants to see on the park after they took a step closer to the Europa League group stages last night.

The Hoops endured a less than convincing start to the campaign, Lennon's first in charge since officially taking over the hotseat, when they crashed out of the Champions League at the qualifying stage to Braga.

They hit back with a win at Inverness in last week's SPL opener and beat Utrecht 2-0 at home last night in the Europa League first leg of their play-off round.

"There is a lot of work ahead of us but what we've got is good energy, good pace and power in the team and no shortage of quality as well," said Lennon.

Goals came from Efrain Juarez and Georgios Samaras.
