Celtic fans mourn loss of Rafferty

CELTIC are mourning the loss of their high-profile fans' chief, Peter Rafferty, who died at home on Sunday night at the age of 68.

Rafferty only retired in April as president of the Affiliation of Celtic Supporters Clubs. He was the supporters' voice on a wide range of subjects, from ticketing arrangements to the exodus of thousands of fans to Seville in 2003 for the Uefa Cup final.

Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell said yesterday: "This is terrible news and our thoughts are, first and foremost, with Peter's wife Winnie, his daughters Anne Marie, Jacqueline and Carol, his grandchildren and all his family."
