Cardiff will target Edinburgh points machine Visser

Points machine Tim Visser will be a marked man when Edinburgh Rugby visit Cardiff in the Rabo Direct Pro 12 League tomorrow.

Home skipper Andries Pretorious is in no doubt where the main threat lies: “Tim Visser is a player who is dangerous, but we know what type of player he is and how to defend against him and that has been shown in the past.”

South African Pretorious is also braced for tough forward exchanges acknowledging the threat posed by a back-row rival and two ex-Cardiff colleagues.

“It is not just him (Visser), they also have Dave Denton (who was brought up in South Africa). The last couple of years we have come through
together. He (Denton) is a new style of back-rower who is very hard-working and dynamic and I am relishing the chance to play against him. You want to test yourself against good up-and-coming players. Richie Rees and John Yapp being there makes it extra special for us.

“We are looking forward to welcoming them but sending them back with a defeat.”
