Cardiff the litmus test says Moffat

EDINBURGH RUGBY coach Rob Moffat admits his side will learn tomorrow whether their revival is for real when Cardiff are visited at the start of another Heineken European Cup campaign.

Back-to-back wins have changed the rugby landscape and eased mounting pressure on Moffat. But this most experienced of campaigners takes triumph and disaster in his stride while giving a glimpse of how the need for a breakthrough, which came against Leinster a fortnight ago, affected the players.

Asked if his side had now turned a corner Moffat said: "It is maybe wrong to see this is a must-win but if we are to go through in Europe this is a massive, massive game. We can't take it any less than that.

"As a group we will learn a lot about ourselves this weekend."

Moffat is due to finalise an Edinburgh team later today having given Fijian back row Netani Talei extra time to shake off a thigh strain.
