Cardiff set to conclude £1m deal for Kenny Miller

CARDIFF have clinched the signing of Scotland striker Kenny Miller from Turkish side Bursaspor.

The 31-year-old former Rangers player is expected to conclude the formalities today after the clubs agreed a fee, believed to up to 1 million.

"We are just waiting on a bit of international documentation," manager Malky Mackay told the club's website. "We've agreed the fee, we've agreed his terms and the medical has been passed. He's been training with us and he has gone up this weekend to collect some stuff and bring his family down."

Miller's move to Cardiff was on the cards last week when it emerged that the Welsh club could make a significantly better offer than Rangers would have been able to offer the player to return for a third stint at Ibrox. Cardiff also saw off Rangers for the signature Craig Conway from Dundee United during the summer.

"Kenny's the current captain of Scotland and he's a leader," said Mackay. "I think he's got better with age. He's someone who is always a goal threat. He's got a fantastic work-rate.

"He's a leader of the line and someone who sets up goals too."

Miller will form a new look attack at Cardiff with Welsh international Robert Earnshaw, and Mackay added: "With Kenny and Robert, I certainly see them as the two marquee signings now.

"Kenny coming in gives us a real marquee signing alongside Earnie. Both are fantastic and experienced players at this level and, as a centre-back, I would not want to play against them as a pairing.

"I think they are two players who could play together."

Mackay is also poised to sign 22-year-old French striker Rudy Gestede, formerly of French side Metz. "We are doing the medical with him at the moment and he should sign on Monday," added Mackay.
