Camelon take on Pollok in pick of the Junior Cup ties

The draw for the first round of the Scottish Junior Cup was made yesterday at Hampden with the holders, Linlithgow Rose, receiving a bye.

Of the 25 East Region local sides only ten were unlucky in the draw.

The tie of the round as far as the local area is concerned is the clash at Carmuirs Park between Camelon and the West Region giants Pollok.

Penicuik face a tricky tie at Kilwinning, while Super League winners Boness are at home to Dundee Violet and should take care of business comfortably.

Unluckiest of all are West Calder who once again are drawn away from home, again to the Highlands, to play Islavale.

Spartans will be looking to improve on last season's exit at Larkhall when they play East Region Premier side Ballingry at home. It's Fauldhouse who are in Larkhall where they face Larkhall Thistle and once again it will be a stiff test for the Park View side.

Whitburn face the unknown with Lossiemouth, from the Highlands as their first round opponents. Teams like Lossiemouth are too far away from Whitburn to send spies so it will be a leap in the dark as to what level they will play at.

Armadale are another side with a long haul in prospect. They are in Bridge of Don, Aberdeenshire, to play Hall Russell. Finally, Stoneyburn are at Kirriemuir.

All games to be played on Saturday, 2 October 2010 at 3pm.

Selected ties: Sauchie v Nairn; Spartans v Ballingry; Islavale v West Calder; Boness v Dundee Violet; Larkhall v Fauldhouse; Whitburn v Lossiemouth; Hall Russell v Armadale; Kilwinning v Penicuik: Camelon v Pollok; Kirriemuir v Stoneyburn.
