Camelon see off Bo'ness to keep survival hopes alive

Camelon JUNIORS maintained their hopes of Super League survival with a deserved win against Scottish Junior Cup semi-finalists Bo'ness United. Camelon were the hungrier side not allowing Bo'ness to settle, although the visitors looked a shadow of the side who won so convincingly against Bonnyrigg the week before.

Graeme McLaren and Craig Young got in shots for their respective sides and although Bo'ness started to push Camelon back, it was the home side who took the lead in 16 minutes.

The Bo'ness defence failed to clear a Blair Batchelor cross and the ball landed nicely for Craig Young, whose low shot from the edge of the box sneaked in at the post.

Right away, Grant Plenderlieth got a shot in on the Camelon goal but the ball was scrambled clear.

The closest Bo'ness came to hitting the target was a Stuart Hunter shot that Bryan Bell headed clear off his goal line.

The pattern of the second half saw Bo'ness pushing forward with little avail. When Camelon got forward the Bo'ness defence looked comfortable but in 72 minutes they were beaten for the second time.

A disputed corner was taken short to Andy Dick who crossed for Jon Mitchell to score at the back post.
