Calderwood committed as Hibs boss

COLIN CALDERWOOD retains the appetite to make a success of his job as manager of Hibs and insisted he has no plans to join Chris Hughton at West Brom, if the former Newcastle boss takes charge at The Hawthorns.

Calderwood moved to Easter Road last October after working at Newcastle alongside Hughton - linked with succeeding Roberto Di Matteo - including last season when the Magpies earned promotion to the Barclays Premier League.

However, the former Scotland defender is determined to remain in Edinburgh and help revive Hibs.

"I want to stay," said Calderwood. "I speak to Chris regularly and I don't think he's even got the job yet. I'm sure he'll be a good and worthy favourite for the job, so it will be interesting to see what transpires from here. I'm thoroughly enjoying my time. I'm looking forward to really getting my teeth in to what I think is a terrific opportunity for myself."
