Bryan Redpath calls for patience

Gloucester boss Bryan Redpath has urged "patience and composure" from his players in today's Aviva Premiership clash against London Irish.

Redpath's team return to the Madejski Stadium a year after they had four players sin-binned and were blitzed 40-10 by an Irish side in top form. And the omens do not look good for Gloucester on this occasion, given their opening weekend defeat against Premiership newcomers Exeter and an error-strewn 22-21 victory over Leeds Carnegie.

Irish, in contrast, only lost narrowly away to unbeaten Bath last weekend after defeating Saracens seven days earlier.

"We have been making too many individual errors - I think 25 against Exeter, and 17 last Saturday," said Redpath. "We are creating a huge amount of scoring opportunities, but not finishing them off.

"We've been far better than we have been previously, both defensively and in terms of discipline, but we need to show a little more patience and composure."

Scotland international lock Jim Hamilton makes his Gloucester debut after recovering from a virus, while centre Seilala Mapusua and second-row forward Nick Kennedy feature in an Irish side that sees Kieran Roche move to the back-row instead of an injured Steffon Armitage.

Saracens, comfortable winners against Sale Sharks last time out, make the trip to Leeds.
