Briggs sisters on duty for Scotland

WOMEN’S HOME INTERNATIONALS: After winning the event for the first time in 19 years in Wales, Scotland open their defence of the title against Ireland at Hillside this morning.

Lesley Nicholson, last year’s winning captain, has been succeeded by Fiona Norris, the older sister of LPGA Tour player Mhairi McKay. They played in the same Scotland team in 1993 and 1994 and now, for the first time since then, Morris captains a side containing two sisters – Eilidh and Megan Briggs. Eilidh is one of three new caps in the team, joining Elderslie’s Alyson McKechin and Rebecca Wilson of Monifieth club Grange.

Louise Kenney (Pitreavie), Kelsey MacDonald (Nairn Dunbar), Pamela Pretswell (Bothwell Castle) and Jane Turner (Craigielaw) complete the Scotland side.
