The London promoter believes that a match between ex-WBO lightweight title-holder Burns and one-time featherweight ring king Harrison in Glasgow would be a huge crown-puller.

Burns, 31, relinquished his crown to American Terence Crawford in March before then losing in a WBC eliminator to Montenegrin Dejan Zlaticanin two months ago.

Harrison was stripped of his title in 2006 because of well documented personal problems before making a comeback in 2012.

He was again suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control last year following fresh problems outside the ring.

But it was confirmed yesterday that fight bosses have reinstated the 36-year-old’s licence following a meeting of the Stewards of the Board in Cardiff earlier this week.

Harrison said: “I had my licence reinstated on 11 June, subject to me providing the Board with some paperwork before they would finally grant me permission to box.

“It’s a relief to have my licence fully reinstated. It’s been a long struggle fighting to get my licence back, but I am now looking forward to returning to my profession and getting my career back on track.

“I believe I have a few more titles left in me and I have always kept myself in good condition.

“There will be news soon about my next fight, which should be in October.”
