The order was made by Sheriff Thomas Welsh QC at Edinburgh Sheriff Court following a European Arrest Warrant from the Spanish authorities.

The warrant stated that 37-year old Harrison of Mount Florida in Glasgow, had been sentenced to four years imprisonment for an assault on the Costa Del Sol in October 2012.

The Spanish court claimed that Harrison had left Spain before starting his sentence. It was also claimed he had been summoned to return to serve his sentence on several occasions, but had not responded.

Harrison has fought the extradition request over several months at the Extradition Court in Edinburgh.

His defence advocate, Niall NcCluskey, has seven days in which to consider an appeal.
