Changing Room Chat: Boxer up for King Kong ding-dong

BOXERS have been known to overdo their pre-fight hype, but Billy Joe Saunders raised the bar by insisting that even King Kong could not prevent him from realising his boyhood dream of winning the vacant British lightweight title.

The 2008 Olympian, who meets Nick Blackwell on the undercard of Ricky Burns’ title defence on Saturday, said: “This British title is all I’ve ever wanted since I’ve been five or six years old and I first went to the gym. Even King Kong wouldn’t take it off me. I’ll beat whoever’s put in front of me.”
