Boxing: McCallum is poised to become first signing for Arthur’s boxing stable

Unbeaten Edinburgh pro middleweight John McCallum is poised to become Alex Arthur’s first signing as a boxing promoter.

McCallum confirmed yesterday that he had terminated his links with West Lothian promoter Paul Graham who has staged all of his three professional bouts thus far.

“I’ve left Paul Graham’s Prospect Promotions’ and although I’ve had contacts with Glasgow promoter Alex Morrison and also Frank Warren I’ve decided that I want to become Edinburgh promoter Alex Arthur’s first managed and promoted local boxer,” said McCallum. “Arthur has told me that he plans to put me on a Triple A Promotions bill he’s planning for Portobello Town Hall early in 2012 and then on his next big show at Meadowbank in April.”
