Boxing: Mark on high for Bee-Gee event

QUEENSFERRY amateur boxing club's Mark Geraghty has hailed his selection by Amateur Boxing Scotland to be senior Scottish coach for the Finland-based Bee-Gee multi-nations tournament in April, writes BRIAN DONALD.

The appointment will reunite him with ace lightweight Josh Taylor, now with Edinburgh's Lochend club. And a delighted Geraghty said: "I am greatly honoured to be chosen because the team going to Finland are virtually the same team who will box for Scotland later this year in the senior Commonwealth Games in India – including my former protege Josh Taylor who came to me as a raw light-flyweight and is now one of Europe's top amateur lightweights.''
