Queensferry light-welterweight Chris McHale lost out to Clydebank's Martin Harkins 9-5 in his final.

A crashing right hand to the jaw which visibly wobbled McHale in the third was typical of Harkins' dominance in the last two rounds although, with his eye on a place in the World Youth championships in April, McHale had started brightly and was even 4-3 ahead going into round three.

The lightweight final saw Queensferry's Sean Spence push his experienced opponent from Ayrshire's Doon Valley club, Martin McCord, all the way.

The two fighters were level at 3-3 going ino the final round but a last-round surge saw the Ayrshire man win by 6-3.

In the 1992 lightweight final, Kelty's Connor Law counterpunched too hard and too often for Leith Victoria's Sean White, who lost by 14-4.
