Boxing: McMillan ready for some hard rock

Gary McMILLAN has found himself between a rock and a hard place, but the British Masters welterweight champion is delighted.

The Edinburgh boxer has tied up a sponsorship deal with the Hard Rock Cafe in George Street ahead of his bout with Paisley's Kevin McInytre at Meadowbank on 27 August.

The top-rated southpaw, who will wear the Hard Rock Cafe logo on his shorts, admitted: "I am really chuffed with this sponsorship as the finance will help me concentrate more on training and boxing angles to my career.

"I'm looking to beat McIntyre to keep alive my ambition of challenging the winner out of Lee Purdey and Craig Watson for the British welterweight title later this year.''
