Boxing: Josh Taylor earns plenty praise

Lochend lightweight Josh Taylor received rave notices from Scottish boxing team captain Callum Johnstone after scoring his country's first ring victory in Delhi.

Taylor brilliantly outscored 2006 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist, Darren Edwards of Wales who, at 29, was ten years older than his Edinburgh opponent.

Commented Johnstone: "Josh used nice punch combinations to go ahead by 3-1 in round two and then, by switching stylishly from southpaw to orthodox, he ran out a decisive and highly-impressive 5-1 points winner."
