Boxing: Alex takes shot at Szot

Edinburgh's Alex Arthur is hoping to get revenge for his very last amateur international loss when he takes on Polish boxer Krzysztof Szot on the boxer-turned-promoter's own bill at Meadowbank on August 27.

Szot outpointed the Scot in 1999 to wreck his chances of competing at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and Arthur claimed: "It's absolutely necessary that the bout captures the imagination of the ticket-buying public. Szot is no mug as he has won 14 out of 15 paid bouts."

Super-middleweight Kenny Anderson will fight Sheffield's Lee Duncan while the big fight of the night sees British Masters welterweight champion Gary McMillan go head to head with ex-British champion Kevin McIntyre of Paisley.

Tickets priced 25 and 35 are available from Meadowbank Stadium.
