Bowls: Craigentinny see off rivals

CRAIGENTINNY made home advantage count in a 6.5 to 2.5 win over chief rivals Parkside that put them back in the driving seat after seven games played in Division 1 of the Alpha Trophies Edinburgh Bowling league.

Wins for the rinks skipped by Willie McDonald, Ian Paterson, and Andrew Jeffrey made the difference and Craigentinny have opened up a four-point gap.

Queensberry remain anchored at the foot of the table but will be lifted by their first victory of the campaign, 7-2 against Hillside.
